Recently, I am obsessed with English fashion and beauty. From the way that they dress over the top and on trend almost all the time, to the fact that they rock big hair and thick, dark liner with light lips…I can’t help but be totally consumed.
My obsession began when I was younger, loving British brand Burberry. Of course, coming from a small family in Midwestern USA, I didn’t have the budget for Burberry (and still don’t,) but the colors and feel are something I carry throughout my wardrobe and incorporate into my style. My most fond memory in London during my travels in high school was AT the Burberry London store. I was overwhelmed by the luxury. I couldn’t stop touching things and wishing and dreaming.
My obsession now stems from a mixture of the fabulous British beauty bloggers like Sprinkle of Glitter, Pixiwoo, Essie Button, and Tanya Burr and my newest favorite show “The Only Way is Essex.” YES, I realize that they are comparative to “Jersey Shore” or “The Hills” here in the US, but there is something spectacular about their makeup, hair and style that keeps me fascinated. Not to mention all of them are beautiful. And they are all entrepreneurs! They have perfume lines and salons and boutiques and clothing lines!
Lydia Bright is now one of my favorite people ever! I love watching her YouTube, and she has a boutique similar in style to one I would love to open up in the future. Another (more dramatic) favorite of mine is Gemma Collins. She is a plus size beauty. She has her own clothing line and is just so sassy. (I plan on doing a Celeb Inspired OOTD on her soon!)
Luckily for me, I’m going back for my honeymoon in May! (Yes, my fiance loves me that much…it was his idea!) I fully plan on buying a classic, Burberry print scarf this time. It will be my most favorite souvenir and to me, it just shows how much I’ve grown. In the mean time, I will just continue to draw inspiration from England!!
My look today all began with me thinking that my hair style and volume reminds me of Cheryl Cole. While I am definitely not quite Cheryl status…that’s where my inspiration for this outfit going a bit British came from. I hope you enjoy!
