If I had to choose one drugstore makeup brand…heck…ANY makeup brand to buy for the rest of my life, I would choose Maybelline. I feel like they have a solid face game with their Fit Me and their Instant Age Rewind Foundation & Concealers. Their mascaras are great! Falsies and Illegal Lengths are both so good. They have amazing eyeshadow palettes and espeicially their Color Tattoo eyeshadows. (Bad to the Bronze = ALL TIME FAVORITE.) Their ColorShow nail polish is reasonably priced and actually really good! I have found that their Color Whispers and Vivids have done a great job as far as their lipsticks have gone, but all they were missing was a really good gloss.

Well, the time for Maybelline lip gloss wonderfulness has come. The Elixir ColorSensational by Maybelline. AMAZING. I have two of them and plan on getting many more. These glosses are highly pigmented like a lipstick, they moisturize and feel like a balm, and they are super glossy like a gloss. All around, I think they are a great product. I picked out the 2 colors I liked most to review for you. On second thought, I should have picked a sparkly one to review as well, but I am sure I would love those just as much.

The packaging on these are adorable. The gloss inside the tube is formed to look like a lipstick, which is just too cute. they give a more expensive feeling than the typical squared tube does. Honestly though, they are more expensive than most Maybelline products. I got these at CVS (which is notorious for having the highest priced cosmetics, but also notorious for having products before most other stores.) The cost was $8.99 each. I was annoyed at the price until I actually tried them. I can honestly say, they feel better and are much nicer than a lot of prestige brand lip glosses.

The two colors I got are #025 Mauve Mystique and #080 Captivating Carnation. I happen to favor the Mauve color currently. Probably because it’s fall and it’s a purple-toned color. But the Carnation color is such a pretty poppy pink color. I love them both!

I have nothing bad to say about this product! (That doesn’t happen often, huh?) I just can’t wait until they hit Wal-Mart shelves so they will be a liiiittle less costly. If anyone thinks of me for Christmas….please, don’t hold back on these awesome glosses! ;)
