Going for a work out as a bigger girl can be daunting. Let’s face it, most of us aren’t as flexible or lack stamina to get through a whole workout. When some of my super fit friends ask me to work out with them, many times I might want to, but know I would hold them back because I can’t go as quickly or do all the moves.

Modifiers are EVERYTHING when you are just beginning to work out as a plus size woman. Many people think they won’t get “a good workout” if they modify the moves, but that’s just not correct! You can get a better workout if you keep going at a comfortable pace and modify your movements. Bend as far as you can go, but don’t feel like you HAVE to exactly mirror what the instructor tells you to do.

There are many benefits to yoga that plus size women can enjoy. Check out the picture below for those benefits as well as some easy modifiers! Once you get these down and get used to them, you can work your way to doing them the “correct” way. The important part is that you are putting forth an effort to maintain a healthier lifestyle.
