Happy Sunday, friends!
Today, I am happy to walk you through my favorite moments in 2014 with some photos. It’s been a big, eventful year, that’s for sure! I’m going to countdown from #14 all the way to #1, so if you want to see what makes my top 14 moments of 2014, please read on…
Honorable Mention: My Bridal Shower! It was seriously GORGEOUS and I can’t thank my girls enough for throwing the most lovely tea party for me. It didn’t make it to my list because….I was super sick during it! I was pretty out of it that day…I hardly ate, but I am so thankful for all the love and support that was shown! I wrote about it here.
14. My 25th Birthday. It’s always the little things that count to me. I have never really had my birthday SO celebrated by my significant other until this year. Brett made me feel so special, I celebrated with Kathy & Liza in the evening, and just really enjoyed my day. (Also, the day was made extra special since Teagan was born on January 8th as well!)
13. Christmas! We had a really busy long weekend for Christmas. We started with Christmas eve in Frankfort with Mell, Ryan, Lola & CoCo! We did chinese for dinner and then a gift exchange. Then, Brett and I went home and opened presents together. (He completely spoiled me, in case you were wondering.) On Christmas day, we went to my mom’s for breakfast & presents, then to my aunt’s for my big family get-together, then to celebrate with Micole, Rhealynn & Cameron! The next day it was off to Dayton, OH for lunch with Brett’s dad and sister, then up to Cleveland for the rest of the weekend. I told you it was busy! I wouldn’t have changed any part of it though. It was an awesome holiday!
12. Trip to Toronto for Janelle & Tom’s wedding. Not only was Janelle the most gorgeous bride I had ever seen, her wedding and reception were equally beautiful! We made a weekend of it, so we didn’t get to see our friends much, but Brett and I had a great time shopping (go figure) and spending time together. I wrote a post all about it here.
11. Kathy & Liza’s wedding! It’s always so lovely to see people you love declare their love for one another. I know Brett and I are SO grateful for their friendship, so we were happy to share their big day with them and witness them exchange vows.
10. Game Nights- all of them! We probably have some sort of game night once per month. Usually, they are with Mell & Ryan, but sometimes they are with Kathy & Liza or Cameron & Micole- always a great time. I look forward to many, many more of them to come.
9. Trip to Wisconsin with Melanie. What a FUN, impromptu trip! Brett and I met Melanie in Middleton, WI for a weekend of relaxing, dining, and outlet shopping. It was an awesome break during a really busy time (December,) and I am looking forward to the next time we can meet in the middle for a weekend soon! I made a video haul from out outlet adventures as well, so you can see those here.
8. Meeting Coralline & Teagan! I feel like they were the same moment…because the two weren’t even born a week apart! I love both of these babes and am so happy they were brought into my life early in 2014 so I could enjoy them all year!
7. Thanksgiving in Cleveland. I had an awesome time in Cleveland in November. We at least every other month, so we are there pretty often, but I loved Thanksgiving the most. It’s always great to spend time with Brett’s family- they’ve become my family too! Seeing our nephew Ethan is always a highlight. He’s seriously the cutest little guy ever.
6. Friendsgiving! I had an amazing time with some of our closest friends. We had some AWESOME food, I made my first turkey, and it was a pretty great success. We ended the night with a lot of games. I loved the whole darn thing and can’t WAIT until Friendsgiving 2015!
5. Meeting my baby cat! Brett finally broke down and got me a cat. I think I had asked for one since the day we met. I came home from work one day, and there he was! Meowseph 2 Chainz Mason (Joey) is just what our home needed. He makes Brett and I very happy, and fills the stillness and silence, which is just great. Plus, he’s totally adorable.
4. Breakfast with Lola. This may seem like a really simple one, but one morning, Lola and I went out to get donuts and ended up having an amazing morning. We had so much fun- singing while driving around, shopping here and there, getting lost, and ended up going to Starbucks for a drink. For a 5 year old (at the time) she sure does know how to have a good conversation! Since I don’t see her as often as I wish I could anymore, I am thankful for the little moments with my mini bff. She’s a blast.
3. Buying our first home. It really was such a blessed year and we were so lucky to have a quick home-buying process. Our home is lovely, and we even had a dinner party with friends shortly after moving in- it was easily a top moment for me in 2014.
2. My honeymoon. London was gorgeous and adventurous and everything I could have wanted in a honeymoon. Brett and I spent equal time relaxing and exploring. We were ready to come home, but we loved it there so much.
1. My wedding day. I loved my wedding. I loved marrying my best friend. I loved being surrounded by all of my favorite friends and family. This day and moment not only topped all of 2014, but it was the best day of my entire life thus far.
