It’s been a little over two weeks, and I am still buzzing from the wonderful blogger’s conference that was Social Fabric University On the Road. It was my first bloggy conference EVER and a pretty great experience. I thought I would share the weekend with you!
First of all, I got all the necessary items for a weekend in a hotel.
- Romance Red Wine from Cooper’s Hawk
- Avo Bath Bomb by LUSH
- Truffles from Godiva
- Gummy Bears from the Albanese Factory
The next morning, I may have been a little hungover from the aforementioned bottle of wine, but I still got up and ready for the day bright and early! I curled my hair and put a cute little braid in. The rainy day called for a fall-ish outfit, which was perfectly fine by me; I love fall clothing!
- Jacket- Old Navy
- Shirt- Wet Seal +
- Jeans- Rocks & Indigo
- Shoes- Toms
- Bag- Michael Kors
I showed up, got a sweet name tag, and of course…snapped a selfie.
We quickly got to it, listening to some awesome speakers teach me how to be a better blogger (for you guys) and how to treat my blog more like a business (for myself.) I gained a lot of knowledge from these professional bloggers, and I met a lot of awesome people who share a love of blogging like I do.
The weekend made me realize that I have a passion for educating people about blogging and social media, so I have made it a personal mission of mine to do so. You can be sure to see more posts on blogging moving forward, so if you are wanting to begin a blog or have just started out, I hope you will be in touch and like my future posts.
After the seminars, we set out to enjoy a trolley ride in the rain. It was actually REALLY great. Our tour guide at Chicago Trolley was awesome! They hire actors and entertainers. I wish I could remember his name, because I would definitely say to request him. I can’t wait to go back with Brett sometime soon. We got some great views of the city, awesome information, and these sweet ponchos.
No trip to Chicago would be complete without a trip to get way too much caramel corn at Garrett’s. Or a trip to Portillo’s for some ah-may-zing Italian Beef. Chicago really does have my favorite foods. And it’s only 3 hours from Indy! I should make it up there more often than I do!
Overall, my weekend was awesome! It was just enough adventure mixed with just enough relaxation. What are some of your favorite things to do in Chicago?
I hear that on the Portillo’s and Garrett’s! I also LOVED the photo tour! I wish I would have come early like you girls to experience the Chicago hotel night out! So happy to have met you and excited about your Indy Bloggers Meetup group!
Looks like a great time, must visit Chicago soon. Love the blog
