Does anyone else have a husband who just loves watching football? Like, all the football? I can’t lie- I love it! Besides the fact that I get some alone time when I’m not watching, I also love the football sounds emanating throughout the house, just having something to cheer for, and of course, a reason to make some delicious game night grub while watching our favorite team!

With it being increasingly COLD in Indiana, I decided to make a recipe to heat it up in the kitchen! These sliders feature El Yucateco hot sauce (which you can find at Meijer) and they are perfect for serving to guests while watching the big game! I used the Caribbean Habanero Sauce, which is slightly sweet, but uses yellow and orange habanero peppers. It’s perfect in seafood and poultry, which is why I added it to my mixture for these spicy turkey burger sliders!

I decided to serve these with homemade oven fries, so I decided to whip up a little dipping sauce using the Red Habanero sauce mixed with some light mayo and greek yogurt. It made a spicy sauce, perfect for snacking! I know you will love it so much, you will want to buy a shirt to sport the stuff while yelling for your favorite team (and chomping on a delicious slider.)

If you want to find out how to spice things up with El Yucateco for YOUR big game party or get-together, check out the recipe below.

Ingredients
  1. 1 lb lean ground turkey
  2. 1 egg
  3. 2 T El Yucateco Caribbean Habanero Sauce
  4. 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  5. 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  6. Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Be careful not to over-mix or it will make the meat tough!
  2. Form into individual patties. I made these into patties that were just slightly larger than the slider buns I was using. I made them about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Place into pan over medium heat.
  4. Cook on one side until there is a nice, brown crust and little pink showing on top.
  5. Flip burgers and continue cooking thoroughly. (The whole process of cooking only took me 10 min.)
  6. Check to be sure they are cooked well. They should be moist still, but NO PINK showing at all.
  7. Remove from heat, put on a bun, and add your desired toppings. I added some spring mix greenery and a mild guacamole to even out some of the heat from the sliders. You could add tomato, onion, bacon, mayo, cole slaw, etc. The options are endless!
Notes
  1. I used 2 T of the El Yucateco hot sauce, and it was a good heat, even for my husband who cannot tolerate spicy very well. If it were just me, I might add some more. The flavor is great with 2 T, but if you want it to be very mild, add less hot sauce.
