You’ve heard those famous words over and over that “It’s better to give than to receive.” I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately. I’m honestly blessed with some of the best friends and family. My coworkers are top-notch, even! I can (and do) say a simple thank you often. I can send a nice email of thanks, even, but nothing compares to getting a little bit corny and letting your guard down. Who knows? When you give extra, you may get extra too!

I want to show you guys a super simple tutorial to share a thank you with those who deserve a little extra acknowledgment.

Step 1: Find a simple, inexpensive product that you know people will LOVE. My go-to is gum, and there is a new Extra® 35-stick pack that is PERFECT for gifting. The package is plastic, so it’s extra durable, includes more gum than the regular paper packs, and just look more gift-worthy because of the fancy new packaging. Plus, it’s recyclable and easy to split between your car and bag or other places.

I found and picked up the Extra® Gum Spearmint 35 pack at Walmart in the check out lane. I would be lying if I said it wasn’t last-minute, but aren’t all sweet surprises last minute thoughts after all?

Step 2: Come up with a catchy “thank you” slogan. My favorite for my special gum thank you presents is “Thank you for being a breath of fresh air!” It’s nothing too cheesy, but just light and happy enough to put a smile on someone’s face.

Step 3: Decorate the package as much or as little as you want. You could totally wrap it, include it with some flowers, or do my favorite and just wrap it up with a ribbon and put a tag on it! I was dying to whip out my new letter stamps with my ink, so I even took the time to stamp out my note! 

Step 4: Deliver it and make that special friend’s day! When they see their special little thank you present, it’s going to be awesome for you too. Because it really will prove that you can give extra, get extra! I gave one to my co-worker, and sure, he asked if it was because of his bad breath at first…but I could tell he was excited to get an unexpected act of kindness thrown toward him. You can do the same for someone in this easy way!
