How excited are you for the fall? I’ve been sweating all summer, just thinking, “If I can make it just 3 short months, I’ll get to pumpkin season!” Now with autumn right around the corner, pumpkin season has arrived! I’m ready for everything pumpkin, but I have a big, soft spot in my heart for the Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods. I love the creaminess, and the hints of pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg which transform into the coziest feeling when I take a sip!
Fall is surrounded with warmth, hugs, fuzzy sweaters, and of course pumpkin! It’s also a time to wind down, send the kids back to school, stop the rush of the summer and just relax! It’s time to take more time for yourself!
I want to share 7 ways to find more time for yourself below, and all these things are best paired with a delicious, limited edition Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Caffè Latte K-Cup® pods (6 ct). You can find these K-Cups at your local Giant Eagle, and they also have a ground coffee version! Remember, it’s pumpkin season, so these are a limited time offer! I am going to stock up so I can enjoy the pumpkin deliciousness all year around!
Listen to Your Favorite Podcast
Lately, I am obsessed with Podcasts. I listen to them on my way to and from work, but I will also throw them on at home while I am lounging around. It’s awesome to get lost in something that’s not a SCREEN. It reminds me of people listening to radio shows back in the day! My favorites include listening to old Bachelor contestants chat about The Bachelor and life and At Home With… by Anna Newton & Lily Pebbles (UK bloggers.) Find something you’re interested in and give it a go!
Take a Few Minutes to Decompress & Organize
Whether you like to make a list to get focused, or you just like to sit down and think happy thoughts, you deserve that little bit of time to yourself! Send your kids to your mom’s for an hour or out with your husband for a special treat, then take that time to prioritize, put yourself first, and clear your mind. Organize your emails, purge the apps on your phone, basically just take a minute to get something done that you’ve been putting off. With coffee in hand, what can you NOT accomplish?!
Curl Up with a Good Book
I really love getting into a good book. It’s the best to find a book and become glued to every page. I get excited to take a little time to myself on the weekend to sip my Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Caffè Latte and get lost in other people’s stories! It’s nice to go offline for a bit, and the key is to disconnect from your usual.
Have a Favorite Movie Night
New movies are always fun, but there’s something comforting about putting on your favorite movie and just getting engrossed in a plot line that pleases you. For me, I like to throw on The Holiday or Top Gun. Choose your favorite, grab your Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Caffè Latte, and enjoy it!
Have a Mini, At Home Spa Day
Get in the bathtub, light a candle, turn on your favorite album and just be. Soak. Do a face mask! My favorite for fall is a pumpkin enzyme mask. (It smells delish!) Just take the time to treat yourself in any way that pampers you! An at home mani/pedi is another good option.
Go on a Weekend Trip
My husband and I love taking weekend trips. Big vacations are always fun, but the mid-month break or release from chaos is always welcomed! We will take a trip that’s easy to drive to and doesn’t take too long to get there. Our favorites are cities with outlet malls, casinos, and delicious food! It doesn’t have to be expensive, but just a quick trip to escape reality.
Make an Indulgent Breakfast or Brunch
I’m telling you this: food is a healing force. I don’t know why people try to say otherwise, but I know that sometimes indulging is good for your soul. At the same time, BRUNCH is something to look forward to all week long. I love making cookies or other treats, but on a cool fall Sunday at mid morning, french toast is the way to go!
I make a MEAN Caramel Drizzle French Toast, and it pairs perfectly with a Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Caffè Latte! Check out the recipe below and try it out for yourself.
- French Toast
- 8 Pieces of Thick Cut Bread (I use fresh baked from Giant Eagle Bakery)
- 4 Eggs
- 1/4 c. Milk
- 1 t. Cinnamon
- 1 T. Vanilla
- 1/2 t. Salt
- Caramel Topping
- 1 T. Butter, 2 T. Butter
- 1 c. Brown Sugar
- 1/2 c. Water
- French Toast
- Melt 2 T. Butter in Frying Pan
- Combine eggs, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and milk.
- Dip bread in mixture on each side
- Fry until golden brown on one side and egg is cooked, then flip
- Caramel Topping
- Melt 1 T. butter in same frying pan.
- Make sure heat is turned on low, add in brown sugar and water
- Stir continually until sticky and melted
- Either dip the french toast in the mixing or pour on top
- Then you can add other toppings such as whipped cream, berries, nuts, etc.
This french toast recipe is one my husband would truly love. The decadent drizzle and flavors are perfect for brunch.
