What do you get the most spoiled children as gifts? Yes, you read that right. Infants/toddlers are THE most spoiled during the holidays. EVERYONE wants to bring a gift for the baby…but they would be happy with a cookie and a box to sit in.
Shopping for a one year old can be a task if they are your own child, but if they aren’t…man, that’s got to be something else! One year olds tend to all be in different stages, some walking, some more on the baby side, some seemingly more of a toddler.
I’ve compiled a list of some of the BEST ideas for presents for one year olds! They range from toys to experiences and even stocking stuffers! I hope you enjoy, get some inspiration, and gift a one year old in your life something special!
EXPERIENCES
SWIM LESSONS
Clara started swim lessons at Goldfish Swim School when she was 6 months old. We truly believe it helped her with so many things. (You can read all about how swim lessons help baby in a post I wrote here.)
OTHER EXPERIENCES
Zoo Membership
Museum Membership
Music Classes
BIG ITEMS
We got both of these “big items” for Clara for Christmas. You can see us chat about them and everything else we got her in this video.
TABLE & CHAIRS
We had the Skiphop Activity Center for Clara when she started sitting up and playing. It’s a 3 in one, so it has been in the transition where she could stand up and play with the toys on it while cruising around it. Now, we have transitioned to the table and bought the chairs that go with it.
This is kind of an expensive option. You could get a little folding table with chairs like these, which are easy to store if you have a small space.
FOOD TRUCK
You could do a kitchen, grocery store, or do like us, and get a food truck. Really, just a stand up station where they can interact with the toy and start working those wheels of imagination!
LEARNING ITEMS
ART SUPPLIES
Go simple with some big crayons and some large paper! You could do the Crayola Mess Free line if you have a kiddo who is more interested in pens and markers. If you’re REALLY adventurous, try some finger paints, Play-Doh, or water colors!
PUZZLES
We have requested the knob puzzles because they are easy for her to hold on to. Melissa & Doug do some really cute ones!
BOOKS
Clara has a whole library full of books already, but there are always new books with new stories or something new to learn! We opted for grabbing some more of the This Little line of books!
She has and LOVES This Little President, so we grabbed This Little Trailblazer, This Little Explorer, and This Little Scientist! (And really, I have learned from these books too!)
STOCKING STUFFERS
We do more practical gifts for Clara’s stocking because….well, it’s nice to get some of those things out of the way for the year. Plus, she knows the good stuff comes from Grandma’s house anyway!
Here are some ideas for practical stocking stuffers:
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Snacks- Crackers, Puffs, Fruit Snacks, Munchers
Hair Ties
Bows
Pacifiers
Sippy Cups
Water Bottle
Toddler Silverware
Hair Brush
Aquaphor
Socks
Small Stuffed Animal
Small Book
Crayons
I hope these tips help you out! I realize that if you’re reading this in 2019, it’s a little late. But it should come in handy for years to come!
Merry Christmas, Friends!
