Best Books by Month 2024 – 107 Books Read

In 2024, I wrote two blog posts. My most recent post was last week, which was a recap of the year. My only other post was about the books I read in 2023. You could say reading has had a chokehold on me in the past few years. I started out in a self-help girly rabbit-hole and have dug myself up to rereading classics, enjoying contemporary romance and fiction, magical realism, and especially literary fiction books. Like many, reading isn’t an “escape” for me, but a way to flex my mind outside of the realm of my possibility.

Don’t we all love falling in love? Of course, but I’m married and my love story doesn’t have that fun, fresh new beginning. It’s right in the ooey-gooey middle (which is so good!) but reading can take me there without really pissing off my husband. Have I ever time-hopped? Not that I know of, but reading books can take me there. It can also put me smack dab in the middle of some juicy family drama and secrets, and other times it can put me in other places in time. I LOVE IT.

Like last year, I’ll go through and share my FAVORITE book from each month and then also share my 4-5 star books with you. (4 Stars = I really liked it, 5 Stars = It was amazing, per Goodreads.) If you’re looking to up your reading this year, these would be a great place to start! If you’re tracking your reading, follow along with me. (I’m still on Goodreads for now, but TBD because I’ll likely land somewhere else for tracking soon.)

I’ve put all the books in this blog post into an Amazon list for you to save and shop from, but remember to support local bookstores (and your library and library app) before buying from Amazon! (If you do purchase from my link, I may receive a small commission.)

Reminder: Every memoir gets 5 stars from me unless they venture into self-help or business instead of just story-telling. People are brave to share their stories.
